 Styles, Colours and Spaces

When it comes to choosing which styles and colours are best for your home, there are a few simple rules you can follow. We will send one of our regional consultants to survey your kitchen and they can make recommendations but, ultimately, the choice is yours. However, with over three decades at the forefront of kitchen refurbishment, we’ve found that certain styles and colours lend themselves better to certain spaces.

Keep It Simple

Smaller kitchens tend to benefit from clean and simple designs, as too much detail can give the feel of clutter and make the space seem even smaller. Ranges such as our Acrylic and Classic selections offer fuss-free, contemporary designs that are particularly at home with colour pops. The Acrylic range, finished in durable and attractive high-gloss works particularly well in smaller kitchens, creating a sleek and modern look. The Classic range is finished in melamine, offering significant resistance to dents and dings, whilst being versatile enough to sport even the strongest tones. Smaller kitchens can benefit from splashes of colour. However, if the room is a dark one, lighter colours help to balance the available light.

Accommodating the Detail

Larger kitchens can accommodate more rustic and timeless styles. While they can cheerfully sport a contemporary design, there is a tendency for them to lose a lot of their character. Our Kensington, Classic and Oxford ranges use the timeless appeal of natural wood, combined with eye-catching, elegant details such as Cathedral Arches. However, if sleek colour is your thing, larger kitchens are able to wear darker shades, to create a smart and modern ambience.
